Pregnancy after HSG

Pregnancy after HSG

- If I did hsg, can I get pregnant in the same month?

Histero-salpingo-grafía represents the creation of an image of the uterine cavity and of the lumen of the uterine tubes.
The purpose of this investigation is to see both the shape of the uterine cavity and especially the shape and permeability of the lumen of the uterine tubes (salpings).
The image is made by exposing the pelvic region under X-rays after a contrast substance has been introduced into the uterine cavity.
In addition to the diagnostic role, this procedure also has a therapeutic role due to the possibility that with the pressure exerted for the introduction of the contrast substance, minor deconstructions can be performed.
Therefore, it is recommended that in the situation in which the image of a small permeability of the salpingeal lumen is obtained, the patient will subsequently maintain sexual relations with the partner.
Thus, a pregnancy obtained in the same month with the investigation in question has no contraindication (if you think about x-ray exposure, this exposure is done on the fallopian tubes and possibly on the ovaries but not on a newly conceived pregnancy).
